What happened to Amartya Sen’s father (a communist) in Dhaka in 1946

“Hindus form 75% of the population. You have nothing to fear from the Muslim league or anyone else. Do not be misled by vicious communalism of Hindu Mahasabha” - Ashutosh Sen, Amartya Sen’s father.

Later, Ashutosh Sen himself had to flee his hometown Dhaka to save his life in 1945.
