Was Baba Banda Bahadur Sikh or Hindu

Some modern-day Sikhs claim a false delineation and one example of that is claiming that Baba Banda Bahadur, who is revered both by Sikhs and Punjabi Hindus, converted to Sikhi and was no longer a Hindu.

Here are some facts counter to that

  1. Banda says “I am a Baishno (Vaishnav)” as recorded in Sri Gur Panth Prakash Episode 59 (page 339)
  2. Banda was told that he never took Khande ka Phaul and he replies that he cannot eat meat since he is a vegetarian. This incident is mentioned in Panth Prakash
  3. Banda Bairagi changed Sikh slogan Waheguru to his own Fateh Darshan. He remarked that Khalsa Sikhs deserved to be finished as recorded in Sri Gur Panth Prakash (page 339)
  4. Banda wore red dress and told his followers not to wear blue as recorded in Sri Gur Panth Prakash Episode 60 (page 347)
