Bela Singh (traitor)

In 1910, Bela Singh was used by British intelligence officer Hopkinson to infiltrate the Ghadarite gurudwaras in British Columbia.

When discovered, Bela singh shot two people in a gurudwara. He knew that British intelligence would save him in the court case. When Hopkinson turned up at court to testify, Mewa Singh Lapoke shot him dead and was hanged for it.

Bela was acquitted but survived several attempts by the revolutionaries to kill him. Eventually, Canada became so dangerous for him that he returned to India where he hunted down in 1920 by a revolutionary organisation called Babbar Khalsa.
