Did Timurids Bring Paneer to India

Paneer was known in India even BEFORE a single Central Asian Timurid invader set his foot in India. A 12th century Sanskrit text, Mānasollāsa describes the preparation of Cheese/Panir. Cheese/Panir was referred to in Sanskrit by the name “Kṣīraprakāra” (क्षीरप्रकार). Mānasollāsa describes the method followed to prepare Cheese/Panir. It was prepared by pouring a sour substance in boiled milk. The solid part was separated by filtering through a fine piece of cloth. This solid part was mixed with spices and used in the preparation of sweets.
