This picture is the archaeological reconstruction of Lothal’s international seaport by ASI. This is how it would have looked 4500 years ago. This is the world’s earliest known dockyard. The canal was artificially constructed and equipped to handle berth and service ships from Egypt and Mesopotamia.
The dockyard has an area of 37×22 meters. It was probably the greatest work of maritime architecture before the birth of Christ.
