Yale University’s connection to slavery

Yale University is named after Elihu Yale. It was founded with his money. Yale was a colonial East India Company (EIC) Governor of Madras. By looting and colonizing India, he amassed a lot of wealth. Under his leadership, EIC sold thousands of Indians as slaves.
